Commencement of Work Year 2021 

The official ceremony of the Commencement of Work Year 2021  held today (01.01.2021) at 9.00 am at the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, and Sports & Youth Affairs of the Northern Province under the auspices of Mr.L.Ilaangovan, Secretary to the Ministry of Education. All the staff of the Ministry of Education, Provincial Department of Education and Zonal Education Office/ Jaffna participated in this ceremony.

The Secretary hoisted the National Flag in the presence of all the staff.  The Provincial Director of Education Mr .S. Uthayakumar hoisted the Provincial flag. Staff from Jaffna Zonal Education Office sang the National Anthem after hoisting the National Flag.

After observing two minutes silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the motherland, Administrative Officer of the Ministry of Education read aloud the Oath of Public Servants.

Then, Dr. A. Jeyakumaran, Medical Officer of Health, Nallur briefed about the current crisis of COVID –19 and the responsibilities of each and every public in the society, implementing actions on control of this viral spreading.

Mr.S. Santhirarajah, Zonal Director of Education, Jaffna and Mr. S.Uthayakumar, Provincial Director of Education delivered a brief speech.

Eventually, the Secretary delivered a brief speech on the necessity of ensuring the prompt, honest and unwavering contribution of all members of the staff, in the effort of creating a better tomorrow with a new economic and declaration of government policy, themed on Vistas of Prosperity & Splendor.
