Thai Pongal Festival 2019 of Department of Cultural Affairs was held at Mallavi.
The Thai Pongal Festival for 2019 celebrated by Department of Cultural Affairs at Mallavi Yogambikai Samedha Yogapuranathar Temple on 18th January 2019 at 9.00 a.m.
On that day, a documentary film “Bandaravanniyan” was screened and the artists of the film were felicitated and Assistant Director of Mrs. Sujeeva Sivathas headed the event.
Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan graced the event as the Chief Guest. Parliamentarian Mrs. Shanthi Sriskantharajah, former Provincial Councilors, Chairmen of Pradeshiya Sabha, Secretary to the Governor Mr.L.Ilaangovan, Secretary of Education Ministry Mr.S.Sathiyaseelan, Additional Government Agent, Mullaithivu Mr.Thanabalasingam, Divisional Secretaries, Cultural Officers, artists and a large number of public also took part in this event.
